Discussion Points for the SeeTime Book
- Begin the lesson by introducing the SeeTime book and ask the students to describe the front cover.
Inside Cover
- Ask the students, “Is the sky day or nighttime?”
- Discuss the direction of the rising sun (upward or downward).
- Ask the students, “Why is the sun smiling?” (beginning of a new day filled with hope and possibilities, etc.)

Lesson One: Day and Night
Lesson One Objective: In this lesson, students will begin to understand day and night.
Materials Needed:
- SeeTime Book
- SeeTime teaching tools
- Crayons/markers/pencils
Procedure
Anticipatory Set:
- After reading page 13 show students Page 12 and the “SeeTime Board.”
- Point out the difference in the colors of the sky for day and night.
- Have students discuss the activities that occur during these two different parts of the day.
Activity to check for student understanding:
- Give each student a copy of Page 12 from the SeeTime book.
- Have the students draw and label activities in the appropriate areas.
- Daytime activities – (around the sun)
- Night time activities – (around the moon)
